Stop 6 of 26
Our favourite pub on the entire crawl. Make sure you head up to the terrace — the sun on the rooftop here can feel like you've teleported to southern Europe. The Hatton Garden heist of Easter weekend 2015 was planned at this pub: Brian Reader, Terry Perkins, Kenny Collins and five other regulars, mostly in their sixties and seventies, held planning meetings in a quiet corner for three years. After the robbery they sat here and congratulated themselves — by which point the police had the pub under surveillance, with cameras and lip-readers. There's a blue plaque inside. The first of the longer walks starts from here, about fifteen minutes to King's Cross.
