After getting off the Tube at Angel, head to this courtyard pub just off Camden Passage. Camden Head dates from 1899 — carved panels on the external stacks confirm it — and enough of the original gin palace survives inside: etched glass partitions, ornate lamps. Downstairs hosts Angel Comedy Club, which has seen Alan Carr, Stephen Merchant, and Bob Mortimer on the mic over the years. We normally have a pint here rather than a half, partly because the beer garden is worth lingering in, partly because it kicks off the best stretch of the crawl. If you can get Estrella Galicia on tap, do.
