An independent brewpub on Essex Street with a five-barrel brew house visible from the bar and from street level. Opened in 2014 as the Essex Street Brewery, it became Temple Brew House after a 2022 refit following a two-year closure. The basement — which is said to be the original street level from the 1670s, when entrepreneur Nicholas Barbon redeveloped the old Essex House grounds — is where the brewing happens. Part of the City Pub Group's micro-brew chain alongside Bath and Cambridge. Right next to Temple station.
