Part of one crawl

Built in 1735 by Thomas and John Shakespeare — genuinely distant relatives of the playwright. The pub sign is a reproduction of Martin Droeshout's portrait of Shakespeare, and there's a life-size bust of the poet on the building's exterior, gazing down at Great Marlborough Street. One of the bust's hands is missing, knocked off by a bomb during the Second World War. Shakespeare's Head is a Greene King, a couple of hundred feet from Carnaby Street, and the outdoor seating is a reasonable place to sit and watch the last hour of daylight if you've got any left. Three to go.
