Part of one crawl

Grade II listed and a two-star entry on CAMRA's National Inventory — that's “interior of very special national historic interest,” which is not a phrase they throw around. The Mitre was Lord Craven's town house before it became a pub in 1859, and the first-floor dining rooms are still named after him. Look for the etched glass, the mosaic floors, and the door panels advertising a “ladies only” snug that no longer enforces its policy. A Young's pub with an unusual pair of curved entrance doors at the corner. You'll be in and out quickly, but notice the glass on your way through.
